The cumulative impact of all this is dangerous. Nor does it mean anything that state Republican officeholders have counted and recounted and recounted votes and deemed them accurate, or that judges across the country, Republican and Democrat, have found TrumpвЂ™s claims meritless. That the case is absurd and hypocritical in no way makes it less dangerous. A wildcat lawsuit filed by the Texas attorney general against the voting procedures in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin (all of them, not coincidentally, won by Joe Biden) was joined by 23 other Republican statesВ andВ 106 members of the House. And since Trump is a 74-year-old man who is not going to change, itвЂ™s up to elected Republicans to put a stop to this madness, as at least one Republican (Senator Mitt Romney) has had the courage to call it. Not only do the presidentвЂ™s words and actions increase the potential for violence, but they are already doing actual harm to American democracy. So itвЂ™s tempting to dismiss and mock the ongoing вЂњclown show.вЂќ That would be a major error. So does the Biden Administration.(Bloomberg Opinion) - With each passing day, President Donald TrumpвЂ™s losses continue to mount in court challenges toВ the election results - as of this writing, by one count, the campaign is 1-53.

If you want to fight fascism, you have to demand more than faith in American institutions. They never had our massive, militarized and radicalized police state. If his party takes power, we will make Nazi Germany look like the Netherlands. He will launch a Civil War to stay out of prison. He will continue radicalizing everyone that pays him any heed because he knows thatвЂ™s his only way out of a prison sentence. His allies in congress will continue to try to drive wedges between uniformed soldiers and their oath to the Constitution. His mouthpieces on fascist propaganda networks like Fox, Newsmax, and OANN will amplify his message of hate and violence and anti-democracy until there is another violent putsch. At those rallies he will continue to call for more and more violence against our democracy. Trump is declaring himself a shadow president.

The DoJВ continues to protect Donald Trump in the name of executive privilege, instead of changing direction as an agency and engaging with this threat with the full might of American federal law enforcement. The Biden Administration has thus far failed to address the problem of TrumpвЂ™s fascist movement. And, frankly, the Democratic Party isnвЂ™t doing this work -В the real and necessary work of combatting rising fascism in this country. I would rather they get wealthy putting out this sort of hard hitting content than not. From my perspective, thatвЂ™s what they are doing right now. You may think theyвЂ™re wolves in sheepвЂ™s clothing, or you may think that they need to stand to account for the party they played in where we are today.
